Travel & Medical Info
IT IS THE PARTICIPANT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION AND ANY NECESSARY VISAS IN ADVANCE OF TRAVELLING.
VISITING SCHOOLS ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE OUT ADEQUATE TRAVEL AND TRIP INSURANCES FOR ALL STAFF ATTENDING THE EVENT.
Airports
Shanghai Pudong airport is the closest airport to us; about 30 minutes drive to the hotels and school.
Shanghai Hongqiao is about 60 minutes drive to the hotels and school, and can be more affected by traffic due to travelling through the city to get to the hotel and school area. Please plan for this in your travel time.
Visas
VISA WILL DEPEND ON THE PARTICIPANT’S PASSPORT/COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND THE PARTICIPANT WILL NEED TO CHECK WHETHER THEY REQUIRE ONE.
If a visa is required, we would recommend either:
L visa (Tourism)
OR
F visa (exchanges, visits and study tours) with an invitation letter from Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong.
For participants who require the F visa, you will need to complete our invitation letter form, which will be emailed to participants when their place is confirmed.
Please complete the form with the required information. We will then use this to create the invitation letter and send it to the participant to include with their F visa application.
Please check carefully which visa you require as this can affect issue of visa if you do not apply for the correct one.
Visa Process
The participant must have a flight and hotel booked prior to applying for a Chinese visa.
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months on entry to China. The guidance states:
“It is advisable that you apply for your visa approximately one month prior to your intended date of entry into China, but not earlier than three months. If you apply for a visa too early, the visa might expire before your arrival to mainland China.”
