If any parents choose to travel to Shanghai during the competition, it is FOBISIA policy that they do not stay at the same hotel as the children for safeguarding reasons.

Airports

Shanghai Pudong airport is the closest airport to the Pudong campus; about 30 minutes drive to the Pudong campus.

Shanghai Hongqiao airport is closest to the Puxi campus; about 30 minutes drive to the Puxi campus.

Visas

VISA REQUIREMENTS WILL DEPEND ON THE PARTICIPANT’S PASSPORT/COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND THE PARTICIPANT WILL NEED TO CHECK WHETHER THEY REQUIRE ONE.

If a visa is required, we would recommend either:

L visa (Tourism)

OR

F visa (exchanges, visits and study tours) with an invitation letter from Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong.

For participants who require the F visa, you will need to complete our invitation letter form, which will be emailed to participants when their place is confirmed.

Please complete the form with the required information. We will then use this to create the invitation letter and send it to the participant to include with their F visa application.

Please check carefully which visa you require as this can affect issue of visa if you do not apply for the correct one.

Visa Process

The participant must have a flight and hotel booked prior to applying for a Chinese visa.

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months on entry to China.

“It is advisable that you apply for your visa approximately one month prior to your intended date of entry into China, but not earlier than three months. If you apply for a visa too early, the visa might expire before your arrival to mainland China.”
